Alexandria JO Volleyball Club
The 2010 JO teams were chosen by a panel of 3-5 coaches at each age level. Teams were selected according to ability, attitude,
postion, and playing time. Girls were put on teams were they would receive maximum playing time according to their position,
as playing time is the best way to increase ability and learn more about the game of volleyball! As a coaching staff and
board, we are excited for the 2010 Alexandria JO Volleyball season; we have a large amount of talent and each team is going
to be a strong and successful team. Ultimately, it comes down to exposure to volleyball and learning about the game!
Fortunately, we had an extremely large number of 12’s try out … all of which were very talented! We were able to put together two strong 12’s teams, where girls would receive good competition, growth, and playing time. Traveling and competing will benefit them all.
If there are any questions, you may contact one of the board members after 24 hours. Keep in mind it is a holiday weekend and many may be traveling. Your concerns will be addressed as quickly as possible. Remember, all teams were selected with the players best interest in mind!
Coaches will be contacting their teams as soon as possible, looking to identify a parent representative for each team and to set up a parent/team meeting to go over practice schedules, rules/expectations, and tournaments.
Players on the non-traveling team are encouraged to play and to recruit others to join the squad. The more girls, the better the experience! This will be used to further develop individual and team skills, in order to hopefully get girls on the traveling teams in the future, if this is where they want to be. The non-traveling league is open to all ages, to anyone looking to improve their skills with slightly less financial and time commitments. Given the numbers, we look to set up inter-squad scrimmages and possible scrimmages with area teams as well! The more girls, the better learning environment! The non-traveling league is looking to start up in February and will practice once a week.
