2010 Spring Meltdown
Date: March 20th and 21st, 2010
Time: Gyms open at 7:30am, Coaches meeting at 7:40am, pool play starts at 8:00am
Sites: DMS - Discovery Middle School, 510 N. McKay Ave., Alexandria and Lakes Area Recreation (LAR) Gym, 720 Fillmore St, Alexandria
Saturday, March 20th - The 12's will be playing at LAR and the 14's will be playing at DMS.
Sunday, March 21th - The 18's will be playing at LAR and the 16's will be playing at DMS.
Warm-up: will be 10 minutes for the first two matches, 5 minutes thereafter. 10 minute-4/4/2 & 5 minute-2/2/1 with no shared hitting. First listed team has the court first. Then switch. Both teams serve for the third time period.
Pool play: Pool play will be best out of three games to 25, third game to 15. These rules may be changed if the pool is running late. Pool play starts at 8:00 AM sharp with warm ups 10 minutes prior. Ref. teams please be ready at 7:50 AM with whistles and enough help.
Tie-Breaker/Bracketing: will be determined by pool match record, won/loss pct, head-to-head, point differential then coin flip.
Playoffs: the first and second place team in each pool will advance to the Gold Division. All third and fourth place teams will advance to the Silver Division. All divisions will play 2 out of 3 games with a cap of 27. Game 3 is to 15 with no cap and no switching sides at 8 points. These rules may change.
Awards: first and second place in the Gold divisions and first place in the Silver divisions.
